She’s always given her all to every role she takes on, and Michelle Williams earned herself an Oscar nod for Best Actress thanks to her work in “My Week With Marilyn.”
It was announced early yesterday morning (January 24) that the “Blue Valentine” beauty nabbed the nomination while she’s up against Glenn Close (“Albert Nobbs”), Viola David (“The Help”), Rooney Mara (“The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo”), and Meryl Streep (“The Iron Lady”).
Stepping out to honor Hollywood’s main players, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were on-hand for the 23rd Annual Producers Guild Awards in Beverly Hills, California on Saturday night (January 21).
Held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, the “Moneyball” stud suited up as his black dress clad partner mingled with fellow guests including actresses Kat and Karen Kramer.
Pitt is among the esteemed names in the running for the night’s top prize of Producer of the year while competing against Thomas Langmann (The Artist); Judd Apatow, Barry Mendel and Clayton Townsend (Bridesmaids); Jim Burke, Alexander Payne and Jim Taylor (The Descendants); Ceán Chaffin and Scott Rudin (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo); Michael Barnathan, Chris Columbus and Brunson Green (The Help); Graham King and Martin Scorsese (Hugo); George Clooney, Grant Heslov and Brian Oliver (The Ides of March); Letty Aronson and Stephen Tenenbaum (Midnight in Paris); and Kathleen Kennedy and Steven Spielberg (War Horse).
Meanwhile, other honorees include Leslie Moonves (Milestone Award), Steven Spielberg (David O. Selznick Achievement Award), Don Mischer (Norman Lear Achievement Award) and Stan Lee (Vanguard Award).
Bringing an end to the week with another red carpet toast to Hollywood’s finest, a full slate of stars converged upon the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills on Friday evening (January 13) for the 12th Annual AFI Awards.
With the ceremony recognizing the year’s most outstanding achievements in film, television and other forms of the moving image arts, big screen leading men such as Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio and George Clooney joined alongside top directors including Steven Spielberg, Ron Howard and Clint Eastwood at the posh Tinseltown fete.
As for the ladies, Rooney Mara looked gorgeous in a gold and black Lanvin ensemble with Claire Danes brightening up the room in a red Donna Karan Pre-Fall ’12 frock.
Also in attendance were “The Help” co-stars Jessica Chastain, Octavia Spencer and Viola Davis, as well as Emilia Clarke, Shailene Woodley and a Versus clad Chloe Moretz.
Meanwhile, this year’s AFI Awards picked the cream of the crop as their honorees, with the full list of selections being as follows:
