Just a few months removed from garnering the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a TV Drama Series, the seemingly flawless Claire Danes was chosen to grace the cover of the May 2012 issue of ASOS.
The casually-clad 32-year-old actress sported a Vintage Navy Field Tee with Ashish Dot Sequin Shorts for the Danielle Levitt shot front page while talking with the magazine about everything from being lonely as a teenager in Tinseltown to her award-winning role in “Homeland”.
Highlights from Miss Danes’ interview are as follows. For more, be sure to pay a visit to ASOS!
On her love of the show ‘The Only Way Is Essex’:
“Damn, I love that show. It’s just so good. We don’t have anything that rivals it. I don’t even care if it’s real or not, it’s thoroughly entertaining.”
On signing up to star in ‘Homeland’:
“It was a leap of faith for all of us. We only had the faintest sense of where the writers were going to take the story, and I think they were discovering it themselves as they went along, which is one of the reasons television can be so exciting. But it’s always just such a relief when a story that you care about and a character that you’ve worked so terribly hard to create manages to translate.”
On her teenage years in the spotlight:
“It was lonely in a lot of ways. I was in a very adult world, and didn’t go to a conventional high school, but I was lucky and I worked with responsible people who never exploited me as a kid.”
on where her fashion sense come from:
“Narcisco Rodriguez was my first fashion big brother. He made my wedding dress, which was wonderful. And we’re friends with Valentino, I mean, we are friends with him! I adore him.”
While he skipped out on the red carpet, Johnny Depp turned up as promised for the 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards in Los Angeles, CA on Sunday evening (January 15).
Looking dapper in a stylish suit, the “Pirates of the Caribbean” star was the first presenter to grace the stage at the Beverly Hilton Hotel venue.
There to announce the Best Movie nomination onstage, Depp’s early appearance saw him get quite the razzing from host Ricky Gervais – as the comedian poked fun at Johnny’s recent movie with Angelina Jolie, by jokingly saying, “Have you seen The Tourist yet?”
With the audience laughing at the comment, Depp proceeded to confess that he hasn’t watched the film.
As for the rest of the Golden Globes ceremony, “The Descendants” and “The Artist” were the big winners while Morgan Freeman received the Cecil B. DeMille Award for career achievement.
They’re Hollywood’s hottest couple, and tonight (January 15) Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie wowed the crowd as they arrived at the Beverly Hilton Hotel for the 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards.
Dressed to the nines as they hit the red carpet, the Tinseltown twosome were the picture of perfection for one of the year’s swankiest A-list affairs.
Having been recently announced as the show’s newest pair of presenters, Brad and Angelina join fellow Hollywood heavyweights Nicole Kidman, Harrison Ford and Johnny Depp.
Additionally, Mr. Pitt – who sported a Salvatore Ferragamo black three piece tuxedo – will go head-to-head against George Clooney, Leonardo DiCaprio, Michael Fassbender and Ryan Gosling as they vie for Best Actor in a Motion Picture in the Drama category.
Meanwhile, Angelina’s directorial work “In the Land of Blood and Honey” is up for Best Foreign Language Film, a nomination in which she said, “I am grateful that the Hollywood Foreign Press Association is honoring our film. This was a true collaboration and I am forever indebted to our cast and crew, who experienced their own personal tragedies in the Bosnian War and gave me an authentic perspective into the conflict. This nomination is a tribute to the collective talent and passion of this extraordinary cast.”
