Taking a break from her silver screen pursuits, Scarlett Johansson is gearing up for a starring role in the Broadway revival of “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof.”
The “In Good Company” star scored the role of Maggie opposite Ciaran Hinds, who has been cast as Big Daddy, Benjamin Walker as Brick, and Debra Monk as Big Mama.
“Cat on a Hot Tin Roof” is slated to begin preview performances just before Christmas, on December 18th, with the opening night scheduled for January 17th, 2013 at the Richard Rodgers Theatre in the Manhattan Theater District.
Scarlett is no stranger to Broadway, as she previously won a Tony Award for her performance in Arthur Miller’s “A View From The Bridge.”
She’s no stranger to modeling gigs, and Scarlett Johansson’s latest ad campaign for Dolce & Gabbana is nothing short of breathtaking.
The “In Good Company” actress works her magic for the camera in the new image to promote the brand’s new foundation Perfectly Luminous.
And while some ads feature a fully-made-up model, Scarlett’s appearance in the shot is much more natural and as a result, far more intimate.
Johansson’s much beloved pouty lips give way to her stunning eyes and beautiful skin as a bed sheet cascades down her back. If that doesn’t sell makeup, we don’t know what will!
It’s a big week for Scarlett Johansson – not only is her new film “The Avengers” hitting theaters on Friday, but today (May 2) she received her very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The “In Good Company” chick looked thrilled as she took to the podium at the ceremony located on Hollywood Boulevard while joined by her superhero co-star Jeremy Renner.
In a recent interview, Scarlett discussed the honor of being given the star, and how it came to be. “I don’t know, actually. I think you’re nominated. There’s a committee… and, I guess, they nominate you and then you receive a star, which is very exciting for me. I was totally thrilled, of course, because I feel very nostalgic about that kind of thing. It’s a wonderful tradition and I felt like I finally made it. I really did! I was, like, ‘Wow! I’ve been in the industry for twenty years and I’ve worked since I was a kid.’ It felt like a big milestone.”
As for her ‘neighbors’ on the Walk of Fame, Ms. Johansson replied, “No, I’ve no idea. I’m hoping not be outside one of those horrible shops on Hollywood Boulevard somewhere. I don’t know how it works. But I’ll find out, I guess. I’ll be on the pavement with my hands and everything. It’s funny.”
She’s gearing up for the May 4th release of her new flick “The Avengers” and Scarlett Johansson is pumped about the whole franchise.
In the May 2012 issue of Total Film Magazine, the “In Good Company” actress chatted about her affinity for her character in the movie.
On playing Black Widow again:
“I love her. So putting on the outfit is like, “Ah, the old familiar friend.’ You have all this history to fall back on.”
On the reaction to her portrayal being positive:
“To have such a great fan response felt awesome, especially as I put so much work into it physically.”
On why she loves the character:
“She’s all business. She’s just a machine. You can’t get her down.”
Kicking off the morning with a workout session, Scarlett Johansson was spotted out and about in New York City on Saturday (January 28).
The “In Good Company” babe looked to be in good spirits as she strolled hand-in-hand with a new boyfriend, after divorcing Ryan Reynolds back in June 2011.
In real estate news, Scarlett is said to be eyeing new properties in London, England and she’s close to making a purchase.
An insider explained, “Scarlett doesn’t want any awkward run-ins with Ryan and Blake in New York. She was always a little uncomfortable about the fact that Ryan and Blake worked together while she was still married to him. When Scarlett is in New York she keeps a low profile. She wants to give the whole party scene a miss.”
“She’s filming a movie called Under The Skin in Scotland at the moment but she is hoping to meet someone new. She adores British men and would love a place and a man in London. She is not making London her permanent base.”
