Rihanna leaving her London hotel to fly home to Barbados
Keeping a brave face, Rihanna was spotted walking out of her London hotel on Tuesday (July 3) to catch a flight to Barbados to be with her family after her grandmother, Dolly, passed away.
After cancelling a scheduled performance, the “You Da One” singer made her way to a private jet wearing a sweater draped over her loose black shirt that she wore with white leggings and a matching white flat-bill hat.
Moments after she was spotted leaving her hotel, Rihanna tweeted a picture of herself standing in front of the awaiting jet, adding a caption reading: “Coming home to squeeze ya mama”.
The 24-year-old shared the news that her grandmother had passed away on Sunday (July 1), and has since been posting pictures and revealing how hurt she is by the loss with accompanying messages such as “Till now, I always got by on my own” and “Memories don’t live like people do”.
Rihanna was previously slated to perform at the Rock In Rio festival in Madrid, Spain on Thursday (July 5) and – although organizers have confirmed they are looking for a replacement performer – they are offering refunds to fans.
Making the long trek to the other side of the globe, Miranda Kerr returned to her homeland as she touched down in Sydney, Australia on Sunday (May 13).
The Victoria’s Secret model mommy toted son Flynn in her arms as she was greeted by her mother, Therese, and grandmother, Ann, during the Mother’s Day airport reunion.
As for the reason behind the travels, Miranda is in the Land Down Under to attend InStyle and Audi Women of Style Awards on Tuesday, May 15th.
The 29-year-old brunette beauty will also be shooting the new David Jones summer 2012 campaign – which is taking place in Australia for the first time in years after having most recently been put together in locales including New York and Italy.
Always fabulous in flight, Miranda Kerr landed in LAX Airport in Los Angeles, CA on Sunday night (April 22).
The Victoria’s Secret stunner looked chic as she made her way down the terminal, offering up a small smile for awaiting paparazzi.
In related news, the 29-year-old hottie recently shared a message about a new gig on her Facebook page, as she wrote, “I am excited to be featured in this month’s issue of the Australian Women’s Weekly with my Mum and Grandmother.”
The spread will be featured in the magazine’s May issue and the brunette beauty shared her thoughts, adding, “A special shoot to celebrate Mother’s Day with the two women I love most,” she added. “I will cherish the experience forever.”

Her career’s currently in full throttle, and Jennifer Lopez adorns the cover of the February 2012 issue of Inland Empire magazine.
The “American Idol” judge beautifies the publication’s front page while talking about what helped her through the challenging times and getting her work ethic from her mother in a column titled ‘Fast Forward’.
Highlights from J. Lo’s interview are as follows. For more, be sure to check out Inland Empire!
On what has helped her through the most challenging times:
“It’s the women. Through ups and not so ups, that’s the one thing that got me through. My grandmother taught me to cook and not be afraid to serve and be humble – and to go out looking nice because people like that and they respect you.”
On her Kohl’s collection and fashion endeavors:
“I’ve been fortunate enough to work with some of the best designers who’ve ever lived. I can bring all that experience to this. I’m really, really a fan of glamour and old Hollywood and movie stars. I’ve always been a fan of fashion ever since I was a little girl, and Kohl’s has been a great partner in helping me execute this first collection and it’s been amazing.”
On her mother helping establish her work ethic:
“My mom always told me that if you work hard, you can achieve anything. And it’s true. It’s one of the truest things ever.”
