April Fool’s Day was a few weeks ago, but tennis star Maria Sharapova had some fun freaking out her fans on Monday when she posted two photos of herself rocking what appeared to be a super-short haircut.
“So what do you guys think?? I kind of love it!” she wrote on her official Facebook page. Fans definitely let her know what they thought — to the tune of nearly 15,000 comments and more than 50,000 likes.
But it turns out it was all a joke; late Tuesday, Sharapova shared another photo, this of her signature long blonde mane, along with an explanation.
“My hair is still long … and blonde … and well it’s pretty much the same,” she wrote. “We did a shoot a few days ago and I sported all types of hairstyles … long and yes short (a wig!). When I posted those photos with the short hair I had no idea everyone would go all bananza … (my dear friends, I never actually said I cut my hair!).” Even though it was just a wig, we think the tennis star pulled the short hair off well.
Taking care of her growling tummy, Anne Hathaway was spotted out and about in Hollywood thursday afternoon (January 19).
The “Get Smart” hottie headed into a local eatery where she picked up some carry out goodies, hopped into her black sports car and sped off.
In a recent interview, Anne’s celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe talked about her ability to pull off many different glamourous looks.
Zoe shared, “I think Anne Hathaway has had a few winners. Her Armani Privé last year for the Globes is one of my favorites because it was super-glamorous in a very kind of vintage Hollywood way, but also extremely modern, and I loved that.”
Bringing her beauty to another magazine, Isabel Lucas is featured in the December 2011 issue of Glamour UK.
The Aussie actress posed for a lovely spread shot by Hilary Walsh with the accompanying column titled “No Dress Required”.
Highlights from Isabel’s interview are as follows. For more, be sure to pay a visit to Glamour UK!
On her style icon status:
“I don’t feel like I deserve any credit because I’m very sort of comme ci, comme ca about what I wear. I just kind of go ‘Oh, today I feel like this’, but I know I’m more comfortable when dressed down – I won’t wear high heels unless I’m obliged to.”
On her fashion likes:
“I like mixing and matching pieces, such as an elegant masculine jacket with something feminine, like high heels.”
On working with Freida Pinto in “Immortals”:
“Freida is a really lovely, warm, free girl, a beautiful spirit and talented actress as well.”
On moving back home to Australia:
“I do enjoy LA when I’m there, but it always felt very transitional for me and I really was there for work. Plus my boyfriend [musician Angus Stone] lives in Australia, so there are a lot of ties. But I’ll be flying back to LA constantly.”
Nabbing herself another new gig as she tries to improve her financial situation, Lindsay Lohan has been named as an endorser for Jag Jeans.
The troubled actress is featured in a new campaign for the denim brand, with the shoot having taken place at the SLS Hotel in Los Angeles.
Miss Lohan’s photo session was spearheaded by world-renowned photographer YuTsai, who has worked in the past with top names including Anne Hathaway, Mila Kunis, Rihanna and Janet Jackson.
Of the shoot, Tsai told E! Online, “As Jag Jeans’ newest endorser, Lindsay embodies the strength and fearlessness of the woman of today. She is unafraid to be who she is. She is fierce yet exudes feminine grace.”
“Lindsay was so involved with the shoot that she would go as far as adjusting items on the set. She even requested scissors so she could personally fray the edges of her black crepe blouse because she believed it would look better that way. Lindsay would take a hands-on approach to her shots, as she was more than willing to change her hairstyle during mid-shoot and even used her own personal jewelry and accessories when needed,” he added.
