Faced with life-altering news, Ryan O’Neal recently revealed that he is suffering from stage four prostate cancer.
The 70-year-old actor lost the love of his life, Farrah Fawcett, to cancer only three years ago and has scheduled to release a book about their relationship titled “Both of Us” on May 1.
“Although I was shocked and stunned by the news, I feel fortunate that it was detected early and according to my extraordinary team of doctors the prognosis is positive for a full recovery,” he told said in an interview with People.
The “Bones” star was diagnosed with leukemia in 2001 and fought through treatments, coming out fully recovered. He was in remission when Miss Fawcett started her cancer treatments in 2006.
“I am deeply grateful for the support of my friends and family during this time, and I urge everyone to get regular check-ups, as early detection is the best defense against this horrible disease that has afflicted so many,” he added.
