They are a few of the most popular singers in the music business, and now Taylor Swift, Miranda Lambert and Alicia Keys all scored a feature in the May 2013 issue of ELLE magazine.
While rocking sultry poses for the Doug Inglish and Carter Smith photo shoot, the singing trio opened up about everything from what really inspires Taylor’s breakup tunes to Miranda’s true inspiration.
“All these emotions, everything that’s said and all your experiences, that’s what inspires the first flicker of a song,” the “22″ songstress explained. “It’s hard being a human being.”
While discussing how she stays grounded in the spotlight, the “Over You” singer offered her own little advice. “My message is to be your own person, always – whether you’re a stay-at-home mom or a superstar… We all bring something different.”
In regards to her new album “Girl on Fire,” Alicia revealed, “There’s not one thing about ‘Girl on Fire’ that’s like any of my others. I’m in a totally new state of mind.”
“This album is like saying I am who I am, not who you want me to be,” she added.

Making her support known, Scarlett Johansson spoke for President Barack Obama on Thursday night (September 6), as she took to the stage to address Democratic Nationa Convention-goers in Charlotte, NC on Thursday (September 6).
Ms. Johansson was seen wearing rust-colored pants, stilettos, a tan blazer and a shirt featuring an American flag as she spoke of the struggles her family had growing up in New York City, living in lower-to-middle class housing.
The 27-year-old actress and model expressed how much government-based programs, such as Planned Parenthood and Medicaid, helped her family and friends.
Scarlett made clear she was not at the convention on behalf of Hollywood, but rather on behalf of women, “That’s why I’m here today to use whatever attention I’m fortunate enough to receive to shed the spotlight on what’s at stake for all of us.”
The blonde beauty expressed concerned at low turnout among the youth vote in the past, but expressed hope for increased support saying, “I’m not going to tell you who to vote for, I’m here to ask you to commit to vote.”
Covering part of her face with a small bag, Scarlett Johansson was caught running errands in Paris, France with boyfriend Nate Naylor on Friday (August 31).

She spoke about how the advertising exec is adjusting to the spotlight. “It must be very strange for him. It’s totally bizarre. It’s an adjustment—I mean, it’s got to be an adjustment for him way more than it was for me at nineteen. But he’s really remarkably good about it.”
And Scarlett admits to being happy in her life and relationship for the moment, saying, “Yeah, everything’s been really great right now. It’s been a good time. I’ve had peace. Relative peace. I just want to work on things that are really hard, and when I’m not working on things that are really hard, I want to hang out with people I like to be with, and that’s it.”

On her love of the show ‘The Only Way Is Essex’:
“Damn, I love that show. It’s just so good. We don’t have anything that rivals it. I don’t even care if it’s real or not, it’s thoroughly entertaining.”
On signing up to star in ‘Homeland’:
“It was a leap of faith for all of us. We only had the faintest sense of where the writers were going to take the story, and I think they were discovering it themselves as they went along, which is one of the reasons television can be so exciting. But it’s always just such a relief when a story that you care about and a character that you’ve worked so terribly hard to create manages to translate.”
On her teenage years in the spotlight:
“It was lonely in a lot of ways. I was in a very adult world, and didn’t go to a conventional high school, but I was lucky and I worked with responsible people who never exploited me as a kid.”
on where her fashion sense come from:
“Narcisco Rodriguez was my first fashion big brother. He made my wedding dress, which was wonderful. And we’re friends with Valentino, I mean, we are friends with him! I adore him.”
